Do you hate telemarketers?

Well, I do, too. Check out the Counter-Telemarketing page for some great information and fun tactics. Our fair state (Arkansas) has a stateside don’t-call list that I’m on, and our telemarketing calls have gone down, though we got a barrage of long, annoying automated calls during the recent primary elections. One campaign in particular (he lost) got a nasty phone call from me for spamming my answering machine with pitches. I enjoyed voting against him.

Wendy’s is buying the Baja Fresh restaurant chain and is planning to expand it “aggressively” across the nation. If you’ve never eaten at a Baja Fresh, it’s a great concept: it’s southwest/tex-mex/etc. food, the majority of which is prepared fresh each day (salsa, etc.). They have a variety of tasty salsas and, most importantly, they have rockin’ fish tacos (one of my favorite foods).

Let me be the first to invite them to Northwest Arkansas.

Phonetic Alphabets

At work today, we were discussing the phonetic alphabets (you know, alpha, bravo, charlie, etc.) used by the military and that the police seem to have a different one (Adam, etc.). Well, I found the mother of all phonetic alphabets list. Enjoy.

Rethink

I’m considering a redesign of this site. Not of the look of the core part, but conceptually, as in spinning off some subsites on particular topics. Of course, that would require that I actually write something every now and then…
